Literature Text

We sit in silence, the soft sun on our faces,
on this wall by the river, our fears are washed away.
With the summer wind blowing through my hair, and birds singing in my ears,
I smile, smugly content with the promise of summer romance.
As I glance at his dirty shoes; time stops.
It's almost as if I.. no, of course not,
how foolish, to think that I'm in love.
I place my hand in his and inhale deeply,
his familiar perfume filling me with memories,
of autumn walks, and deep winter talks;
of starry nights, and alcohol fuelled fights.
As he turns to me, I see a smile forming at the corner of his mouth.
I look into his eyes; his wide, hopeful eyes,
and with a leap of my heart, I realise that I truly am;
that I honestly think;
that I suddenly feel, in the bottom of my stomach;
and at the back of my mind;
an emotion, becoming more apparent with every breath of warm summer air I take.
I can feel it flowing through my veins;
travelling up into my throat;

"I am in love," I whisper,
beaming in a way only cheshire cats dream of.
eeek, what do you think?
